DeBisco and DJKiske Releases “Out There” … Groovy Tunes that are Just That
Winter came and went and many of us in the music production community have gone on many degrees of grinds to make illustrious tunes. If it seemed like I personally went too dark during the winter, it’s because I hit the studio hard to become the best sound engineer I could be…and Texas was buried in half a foot of snow and no power for a week. In any case, besides producing and mixing and mastering, I’ve been taking time to listen to my friends’ Twitch streams and new tunes. A set of tunes that have really caught my attention and amped my motivation lately is Out There, an EP from DeBisco & DJKiske.
Inspired by the works of various electronic dance music artists from the early 2010’s, DeBisco and DJKiske have teamed up to bring you a collection of sounds hearkening back to the era upon which it’s based. We hope you enjoy “Out There” as much as we enjoyed putting it together for everyone <3
Out There is a collection of tunes that really keeps the groove alive. Most of the electronic dance music that I listen to either brings a feeling of hype or uplift, music that will either get me pumped for the moment, or melt my heart with sexy sounds; however, Out There took me to a place where I had options to either enjoy the moments around me, or engage in a hype where I may not need to break a sweat, but I can still bust a groove. Although I don’t often say groove, why I say “groove” a lot is because most House music that I enjoy carries the sounds that give me that groove. I don’t have to think about it but I just naturally dance on the House vibe and these tunes deliver. Just Throwing This Out There kicks off the EP with Disco House that had me reminiscence the Miami, Florida vibes, the hooks, the vocal samples, and the breakbeats just took me home (I grew up in South Florida). DeBisco’s Revenge amps up the hype as an Electro House tune while keeping the groove sense common in this EP. This Electro tune seems to stay cool but would be found to turn up the heat before we know it; I was actually listening to the whole EP while I was going for my 2-mile run and this song along helped me push further and faster with its energy. You Wanted Another One Huh finishes the story with another groovy Disco tune that actually served as a good cooldown in the middle and the end of my run (as I listened to the EP twice during my workout). I don’t want to spoil the EP too much but if this tune was indeed made in 3 days, it is one of the best songs I’ve heard made in such a short time. I personally produced a song called Cafe Maker in 12 hours but it was a rough cut that needed mixing and mastering that I had to push out for Okashicon; I may revisit that song to actually give it a proper finish but Out There definitely gave me inspiration to explore more groovy tunes out there and I hope to hear more from both Debisco and Kiske.
Out There is available now for purchase on Bandcamp and streaming on Spotify. Be sure to visit and follow both DeBisco and DJKiske at their sites and socials and see DeBisco perform online as part of the RAVEKICK 005 online event this afternoon on Twitch.
