Nation of the Nightkids Lineup Revealed! 2-Night Twitch Massive with 1 All Night Long
This Saturday, July 18th begins a virtual super-massive weekend of anime convention fun as Okashicon holds their 3rd year completely online with Okashicon at Home, which will be airing on twitch.tv/okashicon. After the main convention programming, HakubiVerse and Hard Dance Texas will be hosting the official Okashicon Virtual Dance Party with their 2nd annual flagship event of the summer, Nation of the Nightkids Online, airing on twitch.tv/hakubiverse.
For those following Hard Dance Texas in 2019, Nation of the Nightkids was the brainchild of HD:TX Director of Operations (now Chairman), Sephi Hakubi who cemented the Hardcore Rave Community in San Antonio by featuring the Alamo City’s first International Hardcore Headliners in its city’s history, Fracus & Darwin; furthermore, bringing many of Texas’ Hard Dance DJs and San Antonio local EDM superstars between 800 Live’s 2-stages. Hard Dance Texas, along with their partner HakubiVerse, absolutely had plans for a second NotNK year; however, just like with Smash! Festa, Nation of the Nightkids could not physically happen due to the crisis resulted from COVID-19; but yet again, just like with Smash! Festa becoming WeekEND Rave Smash Virtual Music Festival, Nation of the Nightkids 2020 will take place online. Adding to the impact of this new online festival, HakubiVerse and HD:TX has teamed up with Okashicon to give NotNK a true anime rave as Nation of the Nightkids Online will be the official rave for Okashicon.
Another unique quality about Nation of the Nightkids Online is that it is technically the first after-hours event that HakubiVerse and Hard Dance Texas will host as NotNK Online officially starts after Day 1 of Okashicon on Saturday at 11PM Central Daylight Time and finish its first round at 10AM CDT Sunday morning; then, Day 2 of Okashicon plays out until 5PM CDT where Night 2 of NotNK Online airs until midnight (UPDATE: Sunday’s NotNK night was previously scheduled for 4PM CDT but was recently pushed forward to officially start at 5PM CDT immediately after Okashicon’s main programming ends).
All of us who are involved in Nation of the Nightkids Online recognize the crises affecting our world this year that are heavily impacting many ways of life. This show is aware and we will do our part to support the efforts in mitigating and resolving these crises plaguing our society. Nation of the Nightkids proudly announces two primary charities that will receive the earned proceeds from our event donated to them. First, proceeds from Tips donated on HakubiVerse’s Streamlabs will go to Black & Brown Founders. We believe the lives of People of Color matter and we support leveling the playing field by boosting educational and occupational opportunities for all of our brothers and sisters that have been disenfranchised by society at large. Furthermore, proceeds from bits donated on Twitch will go to the World Health Organization (WHO) COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund. We recognize the world’s tireless efforts in combating the world’s biggest threat to our health and way of life and we hope that in addition to rapid resolution in ending the novel coronavirus, but to also boost efforts in assisting those affected by COVID-19.
